We are seeking for a highly skilled Post-Doc in the field of computational systems biology at the Robert Koch Institute ( in Berlin/Germany.
HIV-1 pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is a novel anti-retroviral based strategy to curb HIV infection. The goal of the BMBF-funded project is to establish and refine integrative modelling and simulation tools to estimate the clinical-, as well as epidemiological efficacy of HIV-1 pre-exposure prophylaxis based on in vitro/cellular and explant pharmacological and virological data, together with our collaboration partners in the US, UK, Europe and nationally at the RKI. The specific focus of the post-doc project is to elucidate the mechanisms of action of PrEP in different risk groups (e.g. male vs. female) using stochastic- and hybrid modelling & simulation techniques. The project lies at the interface of systems biology, pharmacology, infectious disease modelling and epidemiology, offers opportunities for academic and intellectual advancement and excellent carrier possibilities.

The position is for up to 5 years under salary scale TV-ÖD E13.
