funded by the US National Institutes of Health as part of the project ‘Addressing Open Challenges of Computational Genome Annotation’.

The candidate shall perform research in the area of bioinformatics tool development for genome annotation. In particular, the plan is to develop a new functionality of the AUGUSTUS program for homology-based gene prediction.

The candidate should be familiar with hidden Markov models, current genomics tools and C++ programming and
have practical experience in handling large amounts of data.
