We are looking for talented bioinformaticians motivated to join a new junior research group that is currently being established by the Clinical Bioinformatics department at Saarland University.

Specifically, we have four open positions at the PhD student or Postdoc level. Those are positioned around the emerging field of (spatial) single-cell transcriptomics with plenty of great applications in understanding human tissue barrier interfaces at the molecular level and their dynamic evolution under the environmental influence of circulating microbes and pathogens.

The group is connected to a diverse set of international peers at world-renowned institutions and provides access to rich computational and biological resources, both in-house and via our close collaborative partners at the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland and the University Hospital. In addition, all positions comprise competitive funding.

Linked below are two job advertisements, each of which can be filled twice. The first is focused on developing innovative bioinformatics methods for the enhanced analysis of (spatial) transcriptomics data (ref. no. W2009), and the second of which is streamlined towards integrative applications and analysis of big transcriptomic and metagenomic data sets to drive novel approaches for translational bioinformatics (ref. no. W2010).

Application deadline is December 15, 2021.

In your full application, please refer to the appropriate ref. number. You may indicate that you apply to both positions at the same time in case you are not sure which suits you best. Please refer to the individual online documents for more details on the job description as well as the application process.
